On our way to Denmark

Today, we said goodbye to our cousins, Christine and Renate.  But first, we headed to the Hamburg main train station.  We returned our hire car to the Europcar offices, and relaxed in Schweinske, a chain of restaurants found throughout Germany.  Soon, after Renate boarded her train to Detmold, Jean and I climbed aboard the 1.30 to Copenhagen, and Christine waved us goodbye on the platform.  In the above picture, Renate collects her luggage from the boot of our car.
After farewelling Christine and Renate, we caught a train bound for Denmark.  Part of the journey is by land and part by sea.  At Puttgarden, the track actually takes the train onto the ferry, as seen in the above photo.  Passengers are then required to step out of the train and into the ferry.  About 45-50 minutes later, passengers re-board the train, and the train drives out of the ferry, back onto land...and into Denmark!
Here, our ferry leaves the port at Puttgarden.
